Beta Gamma Sigma

Beta Gamma Sigma is the honor society serving business programs accredited by AACSB International - The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. Membership in Beta Gamma Sigma is the highest recognition a business student anywhere in the world can receive in a business program accredited by AACSB International.

Mission

The Mission of the International Honor Society Beta Gamma Sigma is to encourage and honor academic achievement in the study of business, to foster personal and professional excellence, to advance the values of the Society, and to serve its lifelong members.

Objectives

The Mission is supported by the five Objectives of the Society. These include:

1. Encourage and honor high academic achievement by students of business and management through chapters in business programs accredited by AACSB International.
2. Foster in Beta Gamma Sigma members an enduring commitment to the founding principles and values of the Society: honor and integrity, pursuit of wisdom, and earnestness.
3. Support the advancement of business thought and practice to encourage lifelong learning.
4. Enhance the value of Beta Gamma Sigma for students and alumni members in their professional lives.
5. Advance the visibility and reputation of Beta Gamma Sigma.
   

The Barney Chapter

In 2005, 2006 and 2007, the Barney School chapter was recognized by Beta Gamma Sigma as one of the Premier Chapters in the Northeastern United States.

The 2008 Beta Gamma Sigma Induction Ceremony

Barney’s annual Beta Gamma Sigma induction ceremony on April 30, 2008 included many firsts.  The group of students tapped for membership was the largest ever for the Barney School.  The attendance at the luncheon was also the largest ever.  And the complete proceedings were videotaped for the first time and will be available on this web site in the near future.
